Android 7.0 Nougat will be released on August 22

Canadian mobile operator Telus revealed information about the exact release date of the new version of Android. As it became known, Android 7.0 Nougat will be released on August 22 – on this day Google should publish the final assembly and release an update for Nexus line of devices.

Recall about a year ago, the same operator accurately reported the release date of the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Nexus. Recall update to Android 7.0 will be received by the following Nexus smartphones:

  • Nexus 6P;
  • Nexus 5X;
  • Nexus 6;
  • Nexus 9;
  • Nexus Player;
  • Google Pixel C.

It is expected that all these gadgets will be updated with the new version of the system in one day. It is possible that Android One program aids will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat later. Other manufacturers are already working on updates for their devices.

Recall, that Samsung announced that its new Galaxy Note 7 will receive the “Nougat” within 2-3 months after release. Other devices, of course, will be updated later. Sony and LG offer a beta build to their smartphones. Also, an update to Android 7.0 for HTC devices is already preparing for HTC 10, HTC One M9 and HTC One A9. Huawei is also working on updating its EMUI – recently the network got the beta version of the Android 7.0 build for Huawei P9.
